Afterlog Terms of Service (Draft)

1. About the Service

Afterlog ("the Service") is a social platform that lets you document your growth and change over time as a single "Journey," compare Before↔Current states along a timeline, and optionally share your progress. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the Company and you as a user.

The Service is a tool for documenting and sharing personal experiences. It does not guarantee the outcome of any medical or cosmetic procedure and does not recommend, broker, or refer any specific procedure or clinic.

2. Definitions

  • User: a person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
  • Journey: a time-ordered collection of records about a specific topic (e.g., recovery, weight loss, learning).
  • Update: an individual record (photo, video, text) within a Journey.
  • Content: any material you post or upload to the Service.

3. Changes to These Terms

These Terms take effect when posted within the Service or otherwise notified to you. The Company may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law, stating the effective date and reason in advance. Material changes will be notified with reasonable advance notice.

4. Accounts and Age Requirement

  1. You may create an account via Apple, Google, or email.
  2. The Service is not available to anyone under the age of 14. Minors aged 14 or older may require the consent of a legal guardian, and where a jurisdiction requires a higher minimum age, that standard applies.
  3. You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and for the security of your account.

5. Special Consent for Sensitive and Body/Procedure Images

  1. By its nature, the Service allows you to voluntarily upload potentially sensitive personal data, including face and body images and before/after procedure photos.
  2. By uploading such Content, you explicitly consent to it being processed and displayed according to the visibility you set (private / followers / public).
  3. The Company guides new Journeys toward conservative visibility (private by default), and you can change visibility at any time.
  4. Location (GPS) metadata embedded in photos is removed during upload processing.
  5. If you post Content that identifies other people, you are responsible for obtaining their consent.

6. Medical and Cosmetic Content Notice

  1. Procedure, medical, and cosmetic Content on the Service is a record of the author's personal experience and is not medical advice. Results and safety vary by individual.
  2. You should make any medical or cosmetic decision on your own responsibility after consulting a qualified professional.
  3. The Service does not provide promotion, inducement, referral, or brokerage of any specific clinic or procedure. Posts intended for such purposes (emphasizing clinic names or prices, asserting guaranteed outcomes, or using inducement language) may be restricted under the Community Guidelines.

7. Content Rights and License

  1. You retain the copyright to Content you post.
  2. You grant the Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, store, transmit, and display your Content to the extent necessary to operate, display, and improve the Service (e.g., feed, search, thumbnail generation). This license terminates within a reasonable period after you delete your Content (excluding backups and legal retention).
  3. The Company does not sell your Content to third parties.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  • Post Content that infringes others' rights (likeness, copyright, privacy).
  • Post unlawful, harmful, obscene, violent, hateful, or harassing Content.
  • Post Content that encourages procedures on minors or inappropriately exposes a minor's body.
  • Post for the purpose of clinic promotion, inducement, or referral that circumvents medical advertising rules.
  • Post false information, impersonation, spam, or automated bulk activity.
  • Interfere technically with the normal operation of the Service.

9. Reporting, Blocking, and Content Action

  1. You can report other users, Journeys, Updates, and comments, and you can block other users.
  2. The Company reviews reports with a target of responding within 24 hours and may hide or remove violating Content and warn or suspend accounts.
  3. Actions are recorded in an internal audit log. Detailed standards follow the Community Guidelines.

10. Changes to or Suspension of the Service

The Company may change or suspend all or part of the Service as needed for operational or technical reasons, and will provide notice where advance notice is possible.

11. Termination and Data Deletion

  1. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
  2. Upon deletion, your Content is deleted or de-identified within a reasonable period, except items subject to a legal retention obligation.
  3. Rights to deletion, correction, restriction, and portability follow the procedures set out in the Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  1. The Service is provided "as is." The Company does not warrant the accuracy, effectiveness, or safety of user Content.
  2. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for damages arising from interactions between users or from user Content, except for the Company's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea (with mandatory local rules taking precedence where applicable). Disputes are resolved under applicable law. Final governing law, jurisdiction, and consumer-protection clauses are to be confirmed after legal review.
